prs-er-soft-wThe PRS continuously analyzes (at high speed) the status of both DP Masters: the operational Master at the protocol and application level in case of failure, and the "Hot Standby" Master to ensure its availability at the time of a changeover (if it is unavailable, an alarm will be triggered).
In the event of a failure of the operational DP Master, the PRS replaces it with the "Hot Standby" Master in the next Profibus DP scan cycle, and the Profibus network continues to function without interruption.

PRS resolves conflicts caused by duplicate addresses between two masters (due to their being on separate buses).
It is useful for complex redundancy systems and is especially advantageous in control systems requiring constant changes and adaptations. Changes can be applied and tested on one master and returned to the other in a fraction of a second.

The PRS can be controlled via the Profibus DP Slave interface or via Ethernet (or the manual switches on the front panel).
The PRS is compatible with any Profibus DP master.
