The D-Link DGS-2000 series integrates network management features such as static routing, inter-VLAN routing, and DHCP relay to maximize network efficiency and reduce the load on routers and backbones. It supports Auto Voice VLAN and Auto Surveillance VLAN, which automatically prioritizes IP voice and video surveillance traffic, ensuring that these critical and sensitive simultaneous data transfers are not delayed or corrupted, even during heavy network usage. The combined copper/fiber uplink port design makes it suitable for both ETTH or FTTB/FTTH deployments, as well as SMB implementations. Furthermore, the carrier-grade triple-play service, offering data, IPTV, and VoIP services, utilizes VLAN, IGMP, and QoS to differentiate each service without interference.

The new release also offers a range of sophisticated security features, including D-Link's innovative Safeguard Engine™, which protects switches against CPU traffic flooding caused by malicious attacks. In addition, Access Control Lists (ACLs), Storm Control, and Smart IP-MAC-Port Binding (IMPB), ideal for preventing Man-in-the-Middle attacks, complete a robust enterprise-level security package.

For management access, the DGS-2000 series Managed switches come with a dedicated console port with full Command Line (CLI) support, as well as access via a WebGUI interface. For deployment within the network topology, the free D-Link Network Assistant (DNA) utility, which also has an iOS/Android app version, allows administrators to easily provision all network devices and access information such as each device's IP address or basic functions like ID, reboot, or even enable SNMP.
