The strengths of the DGS-1210 range are the introduction of high-level management technologies, IPv6 compatibility, and energy efficiency with IEEE 302.3az support.

The new additions are the entry-level DGS-1210-10 (8 Gigabit copper + 2 SFP ports) and two 52-port Gigabit versions (48 Gigabit copper + 4 SFP ports) with PoE (Power over Ethernet) ports. Specifically, the DGS-1210-52P has 24 PoE ports (PoE budget 193W) and the DGS-1210-52MP has 48 PoE ports (PoE budget 370W). PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology is ideal for offices using VoIP phones, IP security cameras, wireless access points, and other devices that support power over Ethernet, greatly simplifying their installation.

In addition to these new models, the DGS-1210 Smart III range includes switches with a multitude of options in port density and PoE and PoE+ versions: DGS-1210-10P (8p Gigabit PoE+2 SFP), DGS-1210-20 (16p Gigabit copper+4 SFP), DGS-1210-28 (24p Gigabit copper+4 SFP), DGS-1210-28P (24p Gigabit copper PoE+4 SFP) and DGS-1210-52 (48p Gigabit copper+4 SFP).

The DGS-1210 series switches are easy to install, simplify network environment design, and offer all the necessary management advantages at a more competitive price than high-end managed switches. This provides a double incentive for businesses, especially within the SMB environment. With this Smart+ Switch family, D-Link offers an excellent opportunity to replace unmanaged switches, which have limited features, with Smart Switches that increase network capacity and enhance security, without the investment required for managed switches. More importantly, they offer simple management that doesn't require an experienced IT department.

Among other features, the DGS-1210 Smart+ Switches range stands out for incorporating Advanced Web Management, VLAN and Trunking (802.3ad), CoS, QoS, CLI command line management, DHCP Server Screening, Loopback Detection and SNMP.

The DGS-1210 family also automates the process of configuring IP video surveillance and VoIP on the network, while simultaneously improving its performance. Specifically, the AutoSurveillance VLAN and AutoVoice VLAN features prioritize the transmission of VoIP and IP video surveillance data across the network, saving companies the expense of maintaining specialized installations. This ensures that voice calls and video surveillance streams will not be affected when data traffic is at its peak.

Another major advantage of the DGS-1210 series is energy savings thanks to support for the IEEE 302.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standard and D-Link Green 3.0 technology with fanless cooling, hibernation and intelligent port and LED shutdown, cable length detection and Time-based PoE.

In addition, the DGS-1210 switches incorporate important security features, such as innovative MAC-IP port binding, Safeguard Engine, ACLs, and ARP Spoofing Prevention to protect the network from malicious attacks and unauthorized access. Furthermore, full IPv6 support across the entire series helps businesses future-proof their investment.

The new DGS-1210-10 and DGS-1210-52P models are now available through the D-Link distributor network, while the DGS-1210-52MP is scheduled to be released next April.
