DSL lines decreased by more than 100,000 in February, while HFC lines increased by 23,820. Meanwhile, FTTH lines registered an increase of over 100,000 lines for the sixth consecutive month, specifically by 127,735 this month, bringing the total to over 1.8 million. Year-on-year, compared to February 2014, the increase of more than one million FTTH lines stands out, contrasting with the loss of more than half a million DSL lines.

Orange, with 19,037 more lines than in January 2015, led the gain in fixed broadband lines this month, followed by Telefónica, Ono and Jazztel with 13,331, 9,200 and 6,139 lines, respectively.
Although all operators gained broadband lines in the last year, Telefónica's market share for fixed broadband lines in February 2015 was 2.3 percentage points lower than a year ago, while that of the other operators increased.
The new indirect access service (NEBA) added 24,272 new lines in February, while GIGADSL and IP-ADSL saw decreases of 2,781 and 4,336 lines, respectively. Overall, the total number of indirect access lines increased by 17,155 lines during the month and, year-on-year, grew by 8.7% compared to February 2014.
The total number of unbundled loops showed a monthly decrease of 32,065 units, the first significant decrease for this indicator in the entire historical series. All three loop types decreased in February, notably the 13,527 decrease in fully unbundled loops, as this is the first month in which a decline in this type has been recorded. Year
-on-year, the total number of loops grew by 4.7% compared to February 2014.
Mobile telephony:
The total number of mobile lines fell by 119,135 in February, due to a decrease of 217,991 prepaid lines, which was not offset by an increase of almost 100,000 postpaid lines. February ended with 50,472,517 mobile lines, representing a 0.8% increase compared to February 2014. Year-on-year, prepaid lines decreased by 7.8%, while postpaid lines grew by 4.6%.
Mobile penetration reached 108.5 lines per 100 inhabitants, almost a full percentage point higher than a year ago.
In February, 500,000 mobile numbers were ported, representing a 13.4% decrease compared to the volume recorded in February 2014. Movistar and Vodafone were the operators that registered a negative balance of porting this month, with 44,028 and 40,404 lines respectively. In contrast, MVNOs showed a positive balance of 78,967, and 
Orange and Yoigo managed to import around 3,000 more lines than they transferred to other operators.
In February 2015, Vodafone, Movistar, and Yoigo lost mobile lines, while Orange and, especially, the MVNOs increased their subscriber base. The largest gains were made by the latter, with 98,773 new lines that month and a market share of 16.51%.
Fixed-line telephony:
In February 2015, the total number of fixed lines decreased by 10,155, due to a decline in the business segment, which was not offset by an increase in residential lines. The month ended with a total of 18,885,167 lines, representing a penetration rate of 40.6 lines per 100 inhabitants.
Note 1: From January 2014, the fixed broadband DSL series for operators other than Telefónica is obtained from data provided by the main operators instead of using wholesale line data. Until 2014, it is assumed that all fully unbundled loops are used to provide DSL service.
