With innovative cards for fiber optic connections, MileGate is ideal for FTTH applications.
MileGate offers 480 active fiber optic Ethernet connections per rack at up to 1000 Mbps per subscriber from an 8U subrack. In addition to IPTV and video-on-demand offerings, network operators can offer their customers traditional cable television over the same fiber optic network thanks to the optimal integrated CATV overlay.

At the FTTH Conference, KEYMILE showcased its latest generation of optical cards for subscriber connections. Using cSFPs, these cards enable flexible expansion of the access node to accommodate a growing number of subscribers. Because cSFPs are used, the initial investment for FTTH expansion remains moderate for network operators. Transmission modules are only deployed when the network operator connects new customers. As a result, MileGate is an ideal solution for connecting private homes and businesses via fiber optics.

MileGate's hybrid architecture system, with a system capacity of 400 Gbps, is the foundation for sustainable FTTH expansion. With its multi-service outdoor capabilities, network operators can start with VDSL2 services in street cabinets (FTTC) and migrate this network to an FTTH network architecture later. Therefore, the investment in fiber optics can be made gradually rather than all at once. Even so, end customers still have access to higher bandwidth throughout the entire process. Another advantage is that, thanks to MileGate's powerful gateway technology, POTS and ISDN can be easily and cost-effectively delivered alongside VDSL2 on a pure Ethernet backbone.
