The sleeve protection time has been reduced to 35 seconds for fiber ribbon sleeves, while splicing requires only 15 seconds for 8- or 12-fiber ribbons. Furthermore, the energy-saving technology used in these machines allows up to 160 splicing/heating cycles with the new two-battery configuration.

Another feature of the FITEL S123M8/12 fusion splicers is their robustness. Using a similar platform to the recently launched FITEL S178A, S153A, S123C, and S123M4 fusion splicers, these two machines are designed to withstand harsh operating conditions by enhancing shock resistance with rubber pads embedded in the four corners of the splicer chassis. They also boast the equivalent of high-quality industry-standard IPX2 water resistance and IP5X dust resistance.

In the field, where installers are required to splice various fibers, such as single, 4-fiber, and 8/12-fiber, these versatile and easy-to-use handheld fusion splicers are ideal tools. They have the ability to splice fibers into ribbons up to 8 and 12 with a simple change in the fiber supports, in any field such as FTTx, LAN, backbone and long-haul installations where fast and consistent splicing is absolutely necessary.
