A unique feature also allows technicians to splice fiber from loose tubes to Tempo splice connectors using patented adapter technology.

"The features and benefits of the FSP200 are numerous," says Keith Foord, product manager for fiber instruments at Tempo Communications. "The end user gets core alignment technology, the ability to splice 200-micron 'micro' fibers, and an IP52 protection rating, meaning it's water and dust resistant. All of this versatility and adaptability is delivered in a compact, user-friendly design.".

A new fiber optic cleaver, the FCL200, is also available to complement the FSP200. The FCL200 features precision-engineered blades to cut optical fiber with minimal loss. To promote splicing efficiency, the cut fiber remains in the adapter ready for splicing and is also compatible with other Tempo fusion splicers besides the FSP200 (910FS, 915FS). Field-tested for optimal performance, the blade's dust container safely collects the final cuts.
