"New technologies, such as 10 Gb/s Ethernet and extended Power over Ethernet, are at the heart of today's networks," said Walter Hock, vice president of product at Fluke. "Whether you're an installer who needs to ensure error-free operation and document your work, or a troubleshooter supporting advanced devices, you both need a tool that combines compatibility with today's advanced technologies with time-saving ease of use and a price point that allows for widespread deployment."
LinkIQ uses a unique testing approach that automatically provides the appropriate measurements based on what's at the other end of the cable. For an open cable, it displays the length and pairing. If it's terminated with the supplied remote, the test result shows the maximum data rate the cable can support: up to 10 Gbps. If the cable is connected to a switch port, LinkIQ will display the switch name and port name, speed, and duplex. If PoE is advertised, it will display the power and class (up to 90W or Class 8) and then load the switch to verify that power can be supplied.
The LinkIQ uses LinkWare™ PC, Fluke Networks' reporting software that supports a variety of testers dating back 20 years and is the de facto industry-standard reporting solution with tens of thousands of active users. The easiest way to manage report data is with a free copy of LinkWare. You can store and access results from a wide variety of Fluke products, or generate PDF reports using the software.
