The MT1000A Network Master Pro is a portable, battery-powered, compact, and easy-to-use comprehensive transport network tester aimed at technicians responsible for the installation and maintenance of mobile access, fixed access, metropolitan, and main transmission telecommunications networks.

The new MT1000A Network Master Pro, along with the MU100010A test module, provides all the necessary capabilities for field testing in an Optical Transport Network (OTN). It offers support for the new OTN features, ODU0 and ODUflex, as well as Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and SDH/SONET at transmission speeds up to 10 Gbps. It can also handle legacy PDH and DSn interfaces.

The product can be configured to perform dual-port testing with all supported interfaces and transmission speeds. The two ports can be used independently, giving the user two instruments in a single physical device, thus making the field tester's work more productive. Dual-port testing can also be leveraged for bidirectional service monitoring on real-time traffic links, offering the novel ability to maintain and optimize existing networks and test networks while they are in operation. This allows operators to detect problems more quickly and reduce network downtime.

The MT1000A Network Master Pro is also the first compact, all-in-one OTN tester to offer the user the ability to test the network with both Ethernet and SDH/SONET client signals. This feature will become increasingly important as OTN and OTN switching adoption expands.

By using the MT1000A, with its combination of OTN and Ethernet testing, SDH/SONET and PDH/DSn testing in a single unit, the field technician will be better equipped than ever to autonomously troubleshoot problems in transport networks without the need for a remote network operations center.

Other notable features of the MT1000A Network Master Pro include:
• User-friendly and intuitive graphical user interface
• WLAN/Bluetooth/LAN connectivity
• Generation of PDF and XML reports for documenting test results
• Remote operation
• Remote control (scripting)
• Compact and lightweight design for portability
• Battery powered
