Built to simplify and accelerate the inspection process, the FIP-400B integrates advanced automated features, such as a high-performance fiber centering system, which eliminates the labor-intensive step of locating the fiber in the image. The FIP-400B includes ConnectorMax2, an integrated connector for pass/fail analysis based on custom or IEC standards, delivering accurate and repeatable connector certification in seconds. It is also equipped with an LED indicator on the probe to provide users with pass/fail confirmation of the connector under test.
As fiber optic inspection tools have become an essential part of a fiber optic technician's toolkit, EXFO has also launched the MAX-FIP smart fiber optic connector and certifier. The MAX-FIP is a rugged and compact unit with a tablet-inspired, standalone display that integrates the FIB-400B fiber optic inspection probe and ConnectorMax2 analysis software, an optical power meter for power and loss testing, and a visual fault locator (VFL) for efficiently testing and troubleshooting any type of optical network. The MAX-FIP's 7-inch touchscreen offers the highest level of magnification available on a handheld probe display, and its eight-hour rechargeable Li-ion battery provides enough power for
a full day of inspections (e.g., during an FTTH cabinet installation). Furthermore, the MAX-FIP offers ample data storage, sufficient for thousands of high-resolution inspection results.
This new family of FIP-400B USB inspection probes is compatible with any PC or laptop, the entire fleet of EXFO FTB Ecosystem platforms, and the new MaxTester 700B OTDR series. Furthermore, thanks to the advanced troubleshooting capabilities of this new probe, operators can minimize the impact of bad/dirty connections on their networks, thus eliminating a leading cause of failure.
