“While systems integrators and network administrators need to verify cabling performance to ensure network performance, they also need to ensure that user traffic can reach its destination,” says Robert Luijten, field marketing manager, Fluke Networks.
“Our network testing capabilities give these professionals visibility into network connectivity and the response time of key resources, enabling them to verify and troubleshoot the network end-to-end.”
The new version includes:
• Expanded network testing: With version 1.1, customers can verify connectivity and response time to key network devices with a simple touch. The LinkIQ can now be configured to perform IPv4 or v6 ping tests and display the response time for four pings to a user-selected target device. Test results show the DNS and DHCP servers, as well as the gateway router. The LinkIQ also displays the IP address of the nearest switch. The new version of LinkWare PC includes this information in its test reports.
• Two-pair cable testing: Cable performance tests up to 100 Mbps can be performed for two-pair cables, commonly used in industrial environments.
• Multi-language support: The LinkIQ user interface now supports 12 languages.
• Reporting: A new version of LinkWare™ PC software, the industry-leading reporting solution, is also available. This new version provides reports that include expanded network tests and allow users to document their work.
