With support for 800G breakout, a single connection can be split into two 400G links (2×400G) or eight 100G links (8×100G) to maximize fiber utilization. This optimizes the cost per bit for communication service providers, businesses, and internet exchanges.

The DCP-802 is designed for three use cases:
• 1:1 Transponder Mode: Converts 800G, 400G, or 100G grayscale signals into coherent DWDM.
• Maximize the use of 800G breakout switches and routers: Extend the lifespan of higher-capacity 100G/400G ports or split 800G ports into multiple lower-speed links for greater
compatibility.
• Enable performance-monitored signal transfer: Use the transponder demarcation point to measure performance before transferring the signal to another system.

The dual 400G/800G transponder features two client ports that support a flexible range of QSFP-DD transceiver types.

On the line side, it supports coherent 400G and 800G DWDM modulation formats, with optional Layer 1 encryption to easily protect data in transit.
To optimize capacity and reach for specific network needs, the transponder supports
programmable line rates from 100G to 800G in small increments. These flexible data rates are made possible by cutting-edge technologies such as dynamic modulation tuning and constellation shaping.
