As an auxiliary device for the widely used TimeProvider 4100 grandmaster, each TimeProvider XT tray is configured with two distribution modules and two plug-in modules to provide 40 fully redundant, individually programmable outputs with synchronization designed to meet ITU-T G.823 standards for jitter and ripple control. Operators can connect up to five XT trays or achieve up to 200 fully redundant T1/E1/CC communication outputs. All configuration, status monitoring, and alarm reporting are handled by the TimeProvider 4100 grandmaster. This new solution allows operators to consolidate their frequency, timing, and phase requirements onto a single, modern platform, thereby reducing maintenance and repair costs.

This solution is compatible with DCD, SSU 2000, TSG-3800, and TimeHub® system connection and outlet panels, eliminating the need to reconnect network elements. This can save network operators a significant amount of time, resources, and costs.
The TimeProvider XT has a DC (Composite Clock) input that allows the DC phase to be cut off during operation, typically for maintenance tasks to ensure network synchronization. The TimeProvider XT system requires the TimeProvider 4100 grandmaster to be running firmware version 2.4, which is the latest version.
