The new elastic OAM SDN IP RAN (internet protocol radio access network) solution, backed by ZTE's elastic SDN technology, allows operators to perform 90 percent of network OAM functions with one click via mobile devices.

As global operators accelerate their 4G LTE network deployments to meet the exploding demand for mobile data from their users, the challenge of managing mobile IP RAN networks is growing. This problem is particularly acute in Southeast Asia, where operators must effectively manage their IP RAN across mountainous and island-ridden terrain.

ZTE's elastic SDN technology can effectively help operators overcome these challenges. By integrating SDN network architecture and adopting virtualization technologies, ZTE's new OAM solution provides unified management across the access and equipment aggregation layers using an SDN controller. The new solution also supports plug-and-play and one-touch service deployments, reducing the OAM workload for engineers and increasing their productivity.

ZTE's new OAM system supports remote operations using personal computers, mobile phones, or tablets, enabling users to perform network OAM tasks outside the equipment room and complete 90% of routine OAM tasks via mobile devices.
