New additions include a 1310 nm LRM multimode fiber transceiver and transceivers for LR single-mode and SR multimode fiber applications with extended temperature range capability and targeted at enterprise and data center applications.


The AFBR-707SDZ 10Gb LRM SPF+ transceiver module incorporates Avago's 1310nm FP laser and PIN detector technology to provide a 10Gb IEEE Ethernet design compliant with the 10GBASE-LRM standard. This transceiver is designed to allow the reuse of existing multimode fiber cables to preserve the end user's cabling infrastructure.

Other important features of the AFBR-707SDZ include its power dissipation with a typical value of 0.8 W; a fully digital diagnostic management interface (DMI); and Avago's SFP+ package design, which enables EMI performance in high-port-density applications with margins within Class B limits. This LRM optical transceiver supports OM1, OM2, and OM3 multimode fiber with a maximum range of 220 meters.

Avago's new AFCT-701ASDZ 10 Gb/s SFP+ LR optical transceiver offers an extended operating temperature range and operates over single-mode fiber at distances up to 10 km, compliant with the IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR optical interface specification. These transceivers are manufactured using Avago's proprietary 1310nm DFB laser and PIN detector technology. The AFCT-701ASDZ also supports an extended housing temperature range of 0 to 85°C, enabling equipment designs with very high port density. The AFCT-701ASDZ is an addition to the existing ACFT-701SDZ, which operates with commercially available housing temperatures of 0 to 70°C while maintaining a maximum power dissipation of less than 1 W.

The AFBR-703ASDZ SFP+ SR transceiver incorporates Avago's 850nm VCSEL and PIN Detector technology to provide a 10Gb IEEE Ethernet design compliant with the 10GBASE-SR standard. The AFBR-703ASDZ is designed with an extended case temperature range of 0 to 85°C to enable high-port-density 10Gb Ethernet equipment designs. The Avago AFBR-703SDZ transceiver for a commercial temperature range is also available upon request.
