Avago's new four-channel AFBR-79Q4Z and AFBR-79Q5Z transceivers operate at 10 Gbps per channel and 5 Gbps per channel, respectively, and are designed for multimode fiber systems working with a nominal wavelength of 850 nm.
Avago QSFP transceivers target high-performance, high-speed computing interconnects; quad-band (QDR), double-band (DDR), and single-band (SDR) InfiniBand interconnects; high-bandwidth back-panel expansions; PCI-Express; and switches for data/telecom communications and router back-panel connections.
The AFBR-79Q4Z/79Q5Z optical interface uses the MTP 12 standard for fiber flat cable connectors. The MSA QSFP transceiver package provides designers with a fully functional plug-and-play solution, helping to keep deployment costs low for the end user. The QSFP transceiver modules incorporate Avago's high-performance, high-reliability 850nm VCSELs along with Avago-developed transceiver circuitry to deliver long operating life and superior optical performance.
Other features:
- High channel capacity: 40 Gbps per module.
- High port density: 21mm horizontal port pitch.
- Backward compatibility with 5Gbps DDR IB and 2.5Gbps SDR IB.
- Two-wire serial (TWS) interface with maskable interrupt for greater functionality.
Avago Technologies offers two high-performance, QSFP MSA-compliant fiber optic transceivers for short-range parallel interconnection and multi-line data communication applications.
