ZTE's new company, headquartered in the Bizkaia Technology Park (Zamudio), is guaranteed to see increased workload, as it will immediately take over the services it is currently providing to other operators in Southern Europe, thus anticipating the creation of new jobs. The company will have its tax headquarters in the Basque Country (CAPV) and will therefore pay its taxes there.
ZTE's new center for Southern Europe will benefit from the professional expertise of Euskaltel's Network and Operations team from the outset. These employees are guaranteed job security, maintaining their current working conditions, seniority, professional development opportunities, and positions within the same Technology Park. This was a key priority for Euskaltel in seeking an alliance and selecting the final partner from among all the proposals received.
The official signing of this strategic agreement took place this morning at the operator's headquarters in Derio (Bizkaia). Euskaltel was represented at the event by its President, Alberto García Erauzkin, and its CEO, Fernando Ojeda. ZTE was represented by its President of ZTE Europe, Xiao Ming, accompanied by its General Manager for Spain and Portugal, Jia Yunpeng.
The technological solutions provided by ZTE will enhance Euskaltel's network capacity, offering greater security, simpler maintenance, and more efficient network management, while also implementing and adapting to the evolving requirements of telecommunications technologies. ZTE is the ideal partner to support Euskaltel in transforming its network and customer services.
Euskaltel-ZTE's First Project: VoIP for Homes.
One of the first projects within the framework of collaboration and technological alliance with ZTE is the VoIP service that Euskaltel will be able to extend to Basque homes. Euskaltel will evolve its fixed-line voice service, which until now has been based on traditional switching technologies, towards VoIP.
Transparently to the user, over the next few months, the service will be offered relying on a new architecture based on IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) on which all next generation NGN (Next Generation Network) networks operate to support telephony and multimedia services over IP.
Among the advantages of this new system is the fact that it allows the incorporation of all types of voice, multimedia and data services into a network on a platform accessible through any means with an internet connection, whether fixed or mobile.
The trend is for all services to be IP-based (voice, data, video, etc.), and this evolution allows Euskaltel to be prepared for all current and future services. A clear example is the new generation of 4G and LTE mobile networks. Conceptually, it is now solely IP-based, and all services provided over it are as well.
