This agreement provides Telefónica with dedicated access and the use of its own dedicated physical network infrastructure within the Allied Fiber system, allowing for greater control over service delivery, network scalability, and costs. The Allied Fiber Southeast segment covers more than 360 miles across the state of Florida and was specifically built to serve network operators of all types, including national, regional, and metropolitan carriers, as well as submarine cable networks.
Telefónica has a presence in the United States through its flagship Sam-1 submarine cable connecting the US and Latin America and its new PCCS cable system covering 3,700 miles, enabling Telefónica to diversify access points to the US, increase connectivity with Colombia, Ecuador and Central America, and offer better service to its MNC and wholesale customers in terms of capacity, security and network diversity.
"With this infrastructure, Telefónica will increase reliability and diversity across its global network. This will translate into a better quality of experience for end customers," says Serafín Borrego, IT Director of Network Platforms at Telefónica Global Solutions.
"Telefónica is a brand customer for Allied Fiber," commented Hunter Newby, CEO of Allied Fiber. "We are very pleased to have this relationship with an established global service provider and look forward to working with them in the future," added Hunter.
