The 14th World Telecommunication and Information Technology Summit (WTIS), whose main theme will be Broadband for Sustainable Development, will focus on development priorities for telecommunications and information and communication technologies (ICTs) and will agree on the programs, projects, and initiatives needed to implement them. The outcome of WTIS 14, the Dubai Action Plan, is expected to set the agenda for telecommunications and ICT development over the next four years.
The 14th World Summit on the Development of Information Society (WSDS-14) will assess progress in the implementation of the Hyderabad Action Plan initiated in 2010, along with other essential activities such as the World Summit on the Information Society, the Connect the World Summit series held since 2007, and the strengthening of the ITU's regional presence.
The ITU will organize the World Telecommunication Development Conference every four years to take stock of progress in the ICT sector and sustainable development. WTDC-14 will adopt a dynamic agenda for the next four years.
