The new network will provide internet service to both hospital employees and patients throughout the hospital complex.
The project implemented at this hospital involves the deployment of a secure, high-availability 802.11n Wi-Fi network, comprised of AP7131 access points and RFS6000 wireless controllers. This is a state-of-the-art mesh wireless network offering high-quality technological features, including scalability, high capacity, and the ability to incorporate VoIP service when needed, as this type of solution is VoIP Ready.
“In this project, Motorola is contributing wireless technology based on the IEEE 802.11n standard, utilizing a next-generation MESH network architecture characterized by its scalability, ease of installation, and adaptability to current and future requirements,” says Manuel Torres, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Mobility Solutions at Motorola in the EMEA region.
“The AP7131 802.11a/b/g/n Access Point provides the performance, coverage, and flexibility needed to deliver WiFi coverage throughout the Santa Marina Hospital, enabling high-quality internet access for staff, patients, and other hospital users,” adds Torres.
“The wireless mesh network will support the hospital’s internet traffic, currently facilitating access to hospital management for our staff, as well as network access for hospitalized patients. In the future, the system can be used to incorporate VoIP, as well as mobile applications that facilitate the daily work of our employees,” says Josu Mirena Etxegarai Atela, Chief Financial Officer of Hospital Santa Marina.
