The Guifi.net foundation is about to complete a project that aims to connect 3 farmhouses via a fiber optic network without the help of any operator.
The foundation operates as a registered operator with the CMT.
The network is based on the fact that the owners of this network are the same users who have financed the project.
The network has a point-to-point topology with a length of 2 km of 96-fiber cables using telephone poles within each user's private property.
The 3 connected houses have two operational sections at 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps.
