FiberNet is one of the most active Spanish companies in this area, having recently acquired the Valencian startup Fibernova, a company specializing in photonic and radio frequency technology for the telecommunications sector. Esther Gómez, CEO of FiberNet, explains that "photonics will be key to designs in the coming years." Fibernova has a center in Valencia for the design, assembly, and manufacturing of photonic circuits, which is unique in Spain. This center is expected to increase the development of photonics technology with a commercial focus to put Spain on the map in this market.
