According to data provided by the ICT Management and Services company, Gystic, 85% of these contracts are for software and hardware services.
The clients who demand these services are companies of varying sizes. Outsourcing helps them with business aspects they lack but need to remain competitive.
According to Jesús Vaquero, Technical Manager and founding partner of Gystic, for outsourcing to work, “the relationship between client and provider must be that of partners who share objectives. Client involvement is key. The companies that hire us do so, first and foremost, to improve their competitiveness and increase their productivity.”
Data from the Spanish company reveals that 38.1% of Spanish companies say that thanks to outsourcing they have been able to develop initiatives or projects that they would not have been able to undertake on their own, since 23.1% state they lack the resources to implement them and 15.05% indicate that the cost is lower than doing it themselves.
After a period of recession last year (with a 20% drop in ICT hiring), Spain will be the fastest-growing European outsourcing economy in 2013.
According to Gystic, more than half of the companies in our country will be using the cloud in 2014. Specifically, the number of companies planning to implement a cloud computing model by 2014 will be three times higher than the current rate.
The five main reasons why Spanish companies are opting for the cloud are:
• The necessary corporate applications can be deployed much more quickly when offered in the cloud.
• The cloud reduces the overall cost of running corporate applications.
• The cloud allows for rapid access to best-in-class applications, something that was not easily accessible before.
• The cloud facilitates a virtual (distributed) organization.
• The cloud allows companies to focus on business transformation, not just on the IT department.
