Last year's edition welcomed over 210,000 visitors from more than 500 different countries, with 36,000 participants at the CeBIT Global Conferences.
The CeBIT Global Conferences 2015 are already taking shape, with several prominent speakers from the IT world having confirmed their participation. These include Lida Yan, head of Huawei Enterprise (a manufacturer of networks, smartphones, and IT solutions); Dr. Jamie Shea, NATO Deputy Secretary General and responsible for the challenges of future security policy; and Raimund Genes, technical director and security specialist at Trend Micro.
There appears to be a shift towards the B2B segment, leaving the consumer segment, which was more prominent in previous editions, somewhat behind.
Starting October 1st, passes for the CeBIT Global Conferences 2015 went on sale at a special price of €400 until the end of November. After that, the price will be €600 until February 2015. These conference passes include admission to the CeBIT trade fair.
d!conomy, the central theme
of CeBIT 2015, will focus on the massive and rapid integration of IT into all areas of the economy and society, as well as its role as a key driver of innovation.
IT is now capable of revolutionizing entire economic sectors with great dynamism, and the concept of d!conomy reflects this evolution.
China, partner country
China, a country that has been evolving from a predominantly outsourcing-based economy to a more innovative one, will be the partner country for 2015, with an expected 600 exhibiting companies, including Huawei and LTE.
China is the world's second-largest IT market after the US, and according to a recent study by the EITO (European Information Technology Observatory), the Chinese market is projected to grow by 8.8 percent this year. This means that China is the fastest-growing nation globally in the information and communication technology sector.
SCALE 11,
the new SCALE 11 area located in Hall 11 at CeBIT, establishes a dedicated space for the entire startup ecosystem. Here, visitors will find companies with innovative business models, up to five years old, as well as international consortia with their venture units, business accelerators, and advisors.
This area will be complemented by “Developer World,” where programmers will present and discuss current topics. “Developer World” is organized by CeBIT in collaboration with the publisher TI heise.
CeBIT SCALE 11 receives decisive support from the economy. Eight months before the trade fair, many industry partners promote this initiative, such as Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH (Berlin Association for Economy and Technology), BITKOM (Federal Association for Information Economy, Telecommunication and New Media), Bundesverband Deutscher Kapitalbeteiligungsgesellschaften (BVK – Federal Association of German Private Investment Companies), Catagonia Capital GmbH, Deutsche Telekom….

ICEX
For the next edition to be held in 2015, greater collaboration in the space contracting process is being studied, on the part of ICEX, which is preparing an "official pavilion" (helping Spanish companies - SMEs - that want to exhibit), facilitating the contracting of "turnkey" stands, although these actions are still pending approval.
CeBIT will kick off again next March 2015, from Monday the 16th to Friday the 20th of March (the days of celebration have been changed from Tuesday to Saturday), with the best forecasts to surpass the more than 3,400 exhibitors from more than 70 countries (55% non-German) who presented their latest innovations in the IT sector at the last edition held in 2014.
