The logistics center, located in the Camí la Mar industrial park in the Valencian town of Sagunto on a plot of 27,000 m2, has 24 loading docks and a large space for the storage of goods with the capacity to hold 35,000 products in stock by 2027.

The facilities will benefit from state-of-the-art intralogistics technology solutions: “The AutoStore order picking and storage system implemented in Sagunto has 35,000 bins, which will significantly increase our daily order picking capacity, improve product availability, allow for more efficient use of packaging, and reduce order delivery times,” stated Antonio Durá, VP of Supply Chain at Sonepar Spain. In addition, the Cable Automation High-Bay technology solution will be implemented to optimize the storage of pallets and cable reels.

In terms of sustainability, the building will be powered by 300 kW of solar panels and has received the highest BREEAM Excellent sustainable building rating, meaning it uses water and energy very efficiently, utilizes sustainable materials, and has low CO2 emissions. The center also features several electric vehicle charging stations.

The innovative distribution center in Sagunto will represent a significant step forward in logistics operations, enabling Sonepar Spain to optimize its service and improve efficiency. More than 60 employees will work from the facility, which also includes offices and a training room.

The construction and commissioning of the Sagunto center is the first step in the logistics investments that will take place at Sonepar Spain over the next few years: "With Sagunto, we are starting a journey towards achieving logistical excellence to advance in productivity, continue our growth and realize the goal of offering the best service to our customers," explained Jean-Cyrille Verspieren, President of Sonepar Spain.
