Testing toolkit for installation and maintenance in data centers
Microlease has introduced a comprehensive set of data center tools (Datacentre Tool Box) that provides data center engineering teams and their subcontractors with the instrumentation they need to carry out installation, modernization, and periodic maintenance projects, all in one package.
The new toolset is aimed at modern data centers that need to provide their customers with the high availability demanded by their performance standards. In this context, high-quality testing is of fundamental importance for a wide range of technologies.
Rental packages like the Datacentre Tool Box offer engineers access to a wide range of instruments with advanced functionality, high performance, and absolute precision. The Microlease tool package provides customers with all the necessary equipment and covers a wide variety of options directly from stock. The rental system offers maximum flexibility, as equipment can be returned when no longer needed or exchanged for other models if different test parameters need to be addressed.
The Microlease Datacentre Tool Box consists of the following elements:
• Power loggers such as the Fluke 1735; instruments for measuring power supply disturbances over time, such as the Dranetz HDPQ Power XPlorer; and high-end real-time power quality analyzers such as the Tektronix PA4000.
• Thermal imaging systems such as the Fluke Thermovision and Keysight TrueIR cameras help identify cooling problems or the risk of overheating in systems and wiring. These instruments can diagnose, for example, imbalances in three-phase systems that draw excessive power on the neutral line.
• Testing and renewing copper cables and fiber optic installations using devices such as the Fluke DSX-5000 or the Viavi Certifier 40G.
• A selection of easy-to-use return loss testers or more sophisticated time-domain reflectometers for single-mode or multimode fiber. The Fluke Certifibers and the Viavi SmartOTDR fall into this first category, while the Viavi MTS-2000, Exfo MAX-720, and Fluke OptiFiber cover a higher level of requirements. All instruments can be supplied with fiber inspection probes to ensure clean connectors. High-speed (100 Gbps) testers are also available for PPC-1, 2-PPC, PPC-4, and QSFP interfaces, making all different interfaces compatible.
• The Fluke MultiFiber Pro offers an easy-to-use loss test suite for systems using MPO (multifiber push-on) connectors, diagnosing faulty connections, sharp angles, and the like.
• Instrumentation for the growing range of transmission protocols used in data centers, from the original SDH to 1-100 Gbps Ethernet and across all fiber channels, such as the Exfo FTB-880 and FTB-8830, Viavi MTS-5822, and the new CSAM - 100Gig Ethernet testers. High-speed (100Gig) interface testers are also available for CFP-1, CFP-2, CFP-4, and QSFP, thus providing support for all the different interfaces.
• The functions of the custom toolkit can be expanded to incorporate other functions, such as electrical safety and earth resistance testing, cable tracing, and vibration testing to prevent mechanical breakdowns.
Thanks to the rental of test equipment for each project, the most suitable and efficient instrument can be used without obligation. Datacentre Tool Box users also benefit from the logistics and service offered by Microlease worldwide.
