With the introduction of the new Dell Storage SCv2000 series, Westcon offers customers entry-level storage solutions with the same management capabilities and many of the core features of the high-end Dell SC series. The new SCv2000 series delivers best-in-class performance and security (1) with integrated data protection to support specialized projects, databases, and test environments, or for simple storage consolidation. Furthermore, this series extends Dell Storage Center software across the entire range, enabling customers to standardize on a common platform, helping them save time, maintenance costs, and operating overhead.
The new Dell Storage SCv2000 series is inspired by customers and the needs they face every day, giving them access to high-end storage capabilities.
The new series launches in three models with expansion options and offers customers:
• High performance at an affordable price – The systems deliver best-in-class performance in a unique, cost-effective 2U chassis. (2) Enhanced options include proven data protection, RAID levels to optimize capacity, thin provisioning, flash SSD support, data migration services, and multi-protocol connectivity. Customers can secure their data with granular data protection that allows up to 2,000 snapshots and 500 replays.
• Integrated data protection – The systems, along with RAID tiering, are capable of optimizing SAN capacity and offer integrated features such as Remote Instant Replay, Local Instant Replay, and Replay Manager. Tight integration with common application environments, such as Microsoft and VMware, helps simplify virtualized data centers and enables remote and local data protection features for consistent snapshots of virtual machines without sacrificing performance.
• Future Flexibility with Storage Center – With the increased storage capacity of the Dell SC4000 and SC8000 series, customers can get more value from their existing investments through data migration. The SCv2000 series supports current needs and future growth, while systems can be managed using the same interface as other SC series systems. Customers who benefit from licensing can scale capacity as needed without having to choose from a wide range of pre-configured hard drives and SSDs.
