EcoStruxure IT Data Center Management as a Service architecture for hybrid IT and data center environments
EcoStruxure IT, the first Data Center Management as a Service architecture, revolutionizes DCIM by offering a cloud-based architecture specifically designed for hybrid IT and Data Center environments.
Key advantages include:
- Complete visibility of the entire hybrid ecosystem, from anywhere, with a single shortcut from a smartphone.
- Information, smart alarms and monitoring through an open system that collects data from all devices, regardless of the provider.
- Forecasting potential risks by leveraging global benchmarks and analytics available in the EcoStruxure database.
- Easy implementation through a subscription model, for any type and size of IT environment.
- 24/7 remote monitoring with Schneider Electric's Service Bureau; in case of malfunctions, the Service Bureau helps to resolve problems and reduces the average repair time.
“The increasing complexity and diversity of critical data center environments, coupled with reduced budgets and teams, present a significant challenge for IT professionals. The first step to overcoming this challenge is a cloud-based management strategy. EcoStruxure IT provides access to valuable insights into data center environments from anywhere, at any time, and on any device,” said Dave Johnson, Executive Vice President of IT Division at Schneider Electric. “With this level of visibility and access, our customers can monitor their IT ecosystem, benefit from trend analysis and intelligent maintenance, while simultaneously reducing risks and increasing efficiency.”.
"DCIM is a fundamental component of software-defined infrastructure," said Jennifer Cooke, research director at IDC. "With a cloud-based innovation like EcoStruxure IT, customers benefit from simpler, more streamlined deployment, greater visibility of assets on and off-premises, and more robust remote management of distributed environments.".
EcoStruxure IT is the latest addition to Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure™, its open, plug-and-play, IoT-enabled architecture that provides end-to-end solutions for Industry, Infrastructure, Data Centers, and Buildings. It integrates industry-leading connected products and Edge Control with applications, analytics, and services to transform data into actionable insights. EcoStruxure drives the digital transformation of Schneider Electric customers worldwide, enabling them to be more competitive in today's digital economy.
Some of the most prominent components of EcoStruxure IT are:
- EcoStruxure IT Expert: provides visibility into the entire hybrid environment, from anywhere, with direct access from any computer or smartphone using the Mobile Insights app. Data center and IT managers can compare performance against their own system or those across the industry to obtain trend analysis, maintenance or failure prediction, efficiency benchmarks, and other metrics.
EcoStruxure IT Advisor addresses the need for enhanced system optimization and inventory management for colocation companies and users. It improves control, planning, and forecasting across all locations, both on-premises and off-premises. Defective equipment can be easily located and managed, reducing repair time, with 24/7 remote support from Schneider Electric's Service Bureau.
Within EcoStruxure IT, Schneider Electric continues to offer StruxureWare™ for Data Centers, an on-premises operations monitoring and management solution suitable for data centers and IT deployments of any size. Furthermore, Schneider Electric offers StruxureWare customers interested in migrating to the new EcoStruxure architecture a simplified process and a dedicated tool to facilitate this migration.
EcoStruxure IT was tested in the US, in IT environments with over 500 customers, 1,000 data centers, 60,000 devices, and 2 million sensors. Customer feedback on the results of their EcoStruxure implementations confirms the need for a cloud-based data center management solution.
"ViaWest is recognized for its hybrid IT infrastructure solutions, including colocation, interconnection, cloud, managed solutions, and professional services, for more than 4,200 customers," said Daniel Harman, building automation systems engineer at Peak10 + ViaWest, Inc. "We chose Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure IT for a single platform to monitor all devices in our data centers through its Mobile Insights app, for remote services, and overall for its innovation-driven roadmap.".
