Fujitsu presentsThe simplified design and modular architecture of this new service make it easy to manage and allow for incremental, cost-optimized growth. CIOs are assured of investment protection through interoperability with existing data center networks.

DynamicFabric puts IT managers in control of all virtualized local area and storage (LANs and SANs) networks, adapting to virtual server workloads via a two-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter and creating partitions of up to eight channels. It also simplifies administration by enabling the addition, replacement, or recovery of blade servers and supports network-agnostic virtualization in dynamic data center scenarios.

In addition, the Fujitsu ServerView Virtual I/O Manager (SV VIOM) simplifies the management of rack, tower, and blade servers in LAN and SAN environments and enables new blade connections for Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers that utilize the latest emerging industry standards, including Data Center Bridging (DCB), as a prerequisite for Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE).

Technical Information:
The PRIMERGY BX 10 Gb/s Ethernet Switch Fabric, 18/6+6, an integrated version of the Brocade VDX 6730 Data Center Switch, is a high-performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet switch with LAN and Fibre Channel ports that provides a high degree of flexibility to support dynamic IT environments with unparalleled scalability for cloud architectures. Furthermore, it incorporates Brocade's award-winning VCS Fabric technology, enabling organizations to build high-performance, cloud-optimized data centers while preserving existing network and cabling designs and achieving active server connections across the entire Fujitsu DynamicFabric infrastructure. Automatically sharing intelligence across infrastructure nodes allows for more efficient management of the entire fabric, significantly reducing operating expenses. In addition to storage-area Fibre Channel networks, the PRIMERGY BX Ethernet Fabric Switches enable Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), iSCSI, and NAS storage connectivity.
The PRIMERGY Ethernet FEX 10 Gb/s, 16/8, also known as the Cisco Nexus B22F, simplifies data center architecture and operations by extending the Cisco Unified Fabric high-performance networking architecture into the Fujitsu PRIMERGY blade server environment. The blade is part of Cisco's Fabric Extenders (FEX) family of support, which enables infrastructure scalability with simplified management by providing switching access to extend and scale blade servers as the customer's business grows. The FEX blade acts as an extension of a Cisco Nexus switch, offering greater operational simplicity at scale with a single point of management and policy enforcement across more than 1,000 Gigabit Ethernet ports. The solution supports Ethernet-only environments as well as converged Ethernet environments using Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) to help reduce total cost of ownership and further simplify data center cabling.
