The SAP Standard Application Benchmarks are designed to help customers and partners find the most appropriate hardware configuration for their IT solutions by establishing strict SAP requirements for performance, speed, and data scalability. Version 2 of the SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW) benchmark, SAP HANA edition, fully evaluates a system's ability to process workloads running on SAP HANA to achieve optimal performance in SAP HANA environments. Fujitsu recently successfully completed the benchmark using its PRIMEQUEST 2800B3 servers running SAP HANA on virtualized and non-virtualized VMware vSphere 6.5. The respective benchmark results with 4 and 8 SAP HANA nodes have been certified by SAP.¹.

Subsequently, SAP announced its support for the latest version of VMware vSphere 6.5 for SAP HANA, with scalability up to 16 nodes. This provides good performance levels for SAP HANA environments with up to 64 (16x4) TB of system RAM. The VMware vSphere solution is based on Fujitsu's PRIMEFLEX Integrated Systems for SAP HANA².

The Fujitsu-compatible SAP BW application, SAP HANA edition, helps maximize return on investment and enables dynamic business continuity by flexibly allocating system resources for scale-out SAP HANA deployments, using high-end Fujitsu PRIMERGY 4 or 8 socket systems or PRIMEQUEST systems for maximum scalability.

All benchmarks were run on three-tier configurations with SUSE Linux Enterprise 12, SAP NetWeaver® 7.50, SAP HANA 1.0.
