This data center consolidates all the services that Indra previously provided at its corporate headquarters data centers in Arroyo de La Vega and those located in Anabel Segura and Telémaco. From its modern facilities, and under very strict security measures, it provides the infrastructure, processing capacity, and services necessary to support the information systems of nearly 60 major clients across all sectors and 36,000 of the company's own users located in its offices in 41 countries.

This advanced center has all the characteristics specified for Tier III facilities, the classification created by the Uptime Institute to determine the degree of reliability associated with four levels of availability. Tier III is awarded to data centers capable of performing any planned activity on any component of the infrastructure without operational interruptions and translates into a maximum availability percentage of 99.982%, equivalent to an annual downtime of 1.57 hours. It also holds ISO 27001 certification for information security, ISO 9001 for quality management, and ISO 20000 certification, guaranteeing that its processes comply with ITIL best practices.

With this new center, the multinational technology company strengthens its capacity to offer cloud services through Flex IT, its advanced on-demand delivery model. This proprietary cloud service delivery model, developed by Indra, leverages the full potential of the cloud, aligning the provision of infrastructure and services with the real-time demand of its clients.

From its cloud platform, Indra offers its clients all the necessary IT management processes to support the various possible service levels: Desktop as a Service, Infrastructure Management as a Service, Application Management as a Service, and Software as a Service. Indra's offering includes everything from support for shared systems and resources to operation and maintenance services, as well as common methodologies and cloud standards.

Comprehensive Security
. Security is one of the most important aspects of the new data center, both in terms of data confidentiality and service availability and threat detection.
From a physical standpoint, all the power, cooling, and communications equipment in the data center is configured in an n+1 configuration. The building has dual power supplies from two different substations and two transformer substations (each with two 2,500 kVA transformers, one of which is dedicated solely to the IT equipment). A single transformer substation would be able to power the entire building. In the unlikely event of a simultaneous power failure from both substations, an emergency diesel generator with a 40,000-liter fuel tank would automatically activate, providing enough power to the building for at least 48 hours. Its capacity would be similar to that required to power a residential development of 700 homes with average consumption.

The facilities also feature state-of-the-art fire detection and suppression equipment, as well as access control and intruder alarm systems covering the entire perimeter of the center.

In the server room, so-called "cold aisles" are used, which allow for more uniform and energy-efficient cooling of all equipment. For security reasons, all cabling is overhead, as this facilitates installation, identification of potential problems, and troubleshooting. Additionally, the attic space houses two chillers with a thermal capacity of 1 MW each to cool the data center room, equipped with "frecooling" batteries.

Regarding the technical infrastructure, Indra's cloud delivery model is based on a Virtual Data Center Architecture for each client. Within a shared communications and storage environment, it utilizes technological solutions from manufacturers such as Cisco and Check Point to securely isolate each client. This provides a controlled environment that guarantees the privacy of each client through secure access via virtual private networks and a double-layer firewall.

Advanced Communications and Control Center.

The new center receives redundant and separate connections from major communications companies, allowing for supplier selection and ensuring service availability. The center also houses one of Indra's ISP (Internet Service Provider) service nodes.

Operational management of the data center is carried out from a Network Operations Center (NOC), located in the same building that manages both the center itself and the 24/7 processes of the hosted clients. The NOC houses the physical infrastructure (display panels, alarm systems) as well as the control tools for the various core data center systems (power, cooling, etc.).

All data center operations rely on the most advanced tools on the market for IT process management (incidents, changes, etc.), infrastructure management (monitoring, security), and industrialization tools (batch process management, system management automation, among others). Indra works with its main partners (BMC, Cisco, etc.) on the deployment and integration of its tools, enabling geographically distributed technical teams in Spain and Latin America to provide support to companies hosted in this data center.

International offices of financial institutions, airlines from countries like Brazil and Australia, energy companies with an international presence, and large public organizations, among others, receive IT support from Indra's new center located in San Fernando de Henares.
