Along with a hardware encryption engine and SSD caching support, the quad-core TS-x31XU series offers two 10GbE SFP+ ports, ensuring top-tier networking capabilities with transfer speeds up to 1,242 MB/s. A single-port PCIe 10GbE add-on card can be installed for more flexible deployment.
QNAP's innovative VJBOD helps maximize storage utilization. In addition to using physical storage expansion enclosures, the high-capacity TS-x31XU can be used to cost-effectively expand other QNAP NAS storage with VJBOD and create virtual storage pools and virtual disk volumes for running NAS services. VJBOD introduces a cost-effective way to utilize unused NAS storage and provides users with an additional flexible storage expansion solution.
QNAP is poised to capitalize on the opportunities of the Internet of Things (IoT), and its Container Station gives developers a competitive edge in developing and deploying IoT applications. Container Station uniquely integrates LXC and Docker® lightweight virtualization technologies and features the QIoT Containers platform, which, combined with the TS-x31XU's high storage capacity, provides an ideal private IoT cloud platform with countless containerized applications ready for developers to launch microservices.
The TS-x31XU series is a comprehensive storage solution for data storage, backup, sharing, and centralized management. It supports cross-platform file sharing on Windows®, Mac®, and Linux®/UNIX®, backup to Windows and Mac desktops/laptops, RTRR (Real-Time Remote Replication) with backup versions, rsync, and backup to cloud storage services such as Amazon® Glacier, Azure™ Storage, Google Cloud Storage™, Google Drive™, Microsoft® OneDrive®, Dropbox®, Amazon® Drive, Yandex® Disk, Box®, and others. The TS-x31XU can be used as a VPN server or VPN client to secure network access. Qsirch, the powerful full-text search tool, helps quickly find files on the NAS, and Qsync provides multiple ways to synchronize files and group file sharing to greatly enhance team project collaboration. QmailAgent allows you to centralize multiple email accounts and simplify daily email management; and Surveillance Station offers a professional IP-based video surveillance solution.
The TS-x31XU's storage capacity can be expanded by connecting up to two QNAP expansion chassis (the 12-bay UX-1200U-RP and the 8-bay UX-800U-RP), providing a total storage capacity of up to 36 hard drives. With support for QJBOD Express (JBOD chassis roaming), users can connect a high-capacity QNAP expansion chassis to the TS-x31XU and migrate data to another NAS via the JBOD chassis without requiring a network connection.
