The Intel SSD 710 offers nearly the same endurance as SLC-based NAND SSDs, but utilizes higher-capacity, more cost-effective MLC NAND. It boasts an instant write endurance of up to 1.1 petabytes (PB) and is available in 100GB, 200GB, and 300GB capacities. Designed for I/O-intensive applications, it delivers 4K random write performance of up to 2,700 IOPS and 4K random read performance of up to 38,500 IOPS across the entire drive, making it an ideal replacement for an enterprise-class SLC SSD or multiple hard disk drives (HDDs). Beyond its performance, the Intel SSD 710 can replace multiple power-hungry HDDs with a single SSD, thereby reducing data center energy costs.
The Intel SSD 710 also includes more features to increase reliability and security, including data protection in the event of a power outage, enhanced data security with additional NAND flash memory to provide system protection in the event of a NAND memory system failure, pre-configured 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption to protect data in the event of external threats or internal system problems, and Temperature Monitoring and Logging using an internal temperature sensor that monitors various parameters and employing two attributes of self-monitoring, analysis, and reporting technology (SMART) to prevent equipment downtime.
