Designed to meet the rapidly evolving demands of AI workloads in colocation and hyperscale data centers, the scalable system delivers high-capacity power distribution through a flexible, modular architecture that facilitates future growth, improves energy efficiency, and simplifies deployment. The solution is engineered to meet stringent global safety and performance standards, with configurations up to 2000A under UL 857 and up to 2500A under IEC 61439-6, with copper and aluminum conductor options.
Vertiv PowerBar Track enables a secure and continuous power supply, as well as hot-swapping configuration changes without system downtime. Its open architecture allows operators to install or relocate tap-off boxes anywhere along the busbar while maintaining active load distribution. Each connection point includes integrated mechanical and electrical interlocks for operator safety, and optional integrated metering provides real-time visibility into power consumption, improving capacity planning and energy management. The double-height configuration supports greater capacity and more connections per junction box, and can also scale vertically to efficiently serve high-density environments.
“Power distribution systems must evolve to keep pace with the scale and density of modern AI and high-performance computing environments,” said Kyle Keeper, senior vice president of Vertiv’s power business unit. “As customers face increased power demands, tighter space constraints, and constantly changing infrastructure requirements, they need flexible solutions. The Vertiv PowerBar Track double-height busway is designed to address these challenges through compact, scalable expansion, enabling hot-swapping and delivering the reliability needed in mission-critical data center environments.”
The busway system integrates seamlessly with Vertiv’s complete power chain, including Vertiv™ PowerBoard switchgear, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and racks, forming a complete and coordinated infrastructure for high-density applications. Backed by Vertiv’s global manufacturing and service network, the Vertiv™ PowerBar Track can be configured for ease of maintenance, reducing associated downtime and enabling faster deployment and greater adaptability in rapidly expanding data centers. Vertiv PowerBar Track is also part of the Vertiv™ 360AI, which combines power distribution, protection, and management technologies designed to support the next generation of AI-ready digital infrastructure.
Furthermore, Vertiv PowerBar Track integrates with Vertiv™ OneCore, a scalable, prefabricated infrastructure solution for data centers, and with Vertiv™ SmartRun, a modular aerial system for IT infrastructure, enabling a cohesive approach to modular and scalable data center design.
