VMware vCloud Air joins Westcon's Data Center portfolio in Iberia and will be available to all types of customers, especially midmarket companies, startups and small companies, so that they can have the same services and resources as an enterprise-level company without having to acquire infrastructure and with zero investment.

VMware vCloud Air users will have access to hybrid cloud computing, enabling them to more quickly and securely extend their data center and applications to the cloud. With cloud services based on VMware technology, they can deploy new workloads or move existing ones between their own data centers or internal private clouds and the public cloud, as needed, to create a true hybrid cloud.

VMware vCloud Air benefits Westcon partners by enabling them to offer VMware services and provide their users with a range of platform-related services, such as deployment and monitoring. Users already working with VMware will also benefit from using this platform, as they won't need to install new applications or tools, nor will they require additional training, since they are already familiar with VMware technology.

Advantages of VMware vCloud Air:
The VMware vCloud Air platform is used by users to increase agility, utilize resources efficiently, reduce capital expenditures (CapEx), achieve lower IT costs, and cope with seasonality and workload disruptions. VMware vCloud Air stands out by providing the following features:
• Powerful hybrid capabilities: Hybrid cloud allows companies to combine the flexibility and efficiency of the public cloud with the security and control of on-premises data centers.
• Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): Offers computing power, storage options, and advanced networking that integrate with the vSphere environment.
• A platform for Enterprise IT: Modern applications, development/testing, and disaster recovery to meet business needs without changing processes.
• Advanced security, isolation, and high availability: Comprehensive compliance certifications, secure connections to private networks, data protection, disaster recovery, and dedicated cloud options.
• Broad compatibility, performance, and common tools for internal applications.

VMware vCloud Air can be used both to acquire public cloud services and to supplement the services a company already has in its data center, but it is especially effective in the following cases:
• Disaster Recovery as a Service: for all those customers who do not have a disaster recovery plan, need to deal with service interruptions, or have disaster recovery but lack remote offices and secure applications.
• Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): allows customers to avoid deploying infrastructure in their data center, especially when they need to expand their business and do not have the necessary data centers.
• Expanding capacity, extending existing applications, web and mobile apps, among others.

VMware vCloud Air Access Options
VMware vCloud Air users can access the service through two options:
• Subscription: The customer purchases the service with a set amount of storage, networking, and computing resources, where costs are predictable. There are several monthly subscription options: vCloud Air Dedicated Cloud, vCloud Air Virtual Private Cloud, and vCloud Air Disaster Recovery.
• OnDemand: The customer has complete flexibility, as they can contract a specific amount of storage, networking, and computing capacity and, when consumed, can expand it, paying only for what they use. There is no contract or purchase order required. Payment is easy with a credit card or through OnDemand transactions via the Subscription Purchase Program using credits. In this case, customers have access to the vCloud Air Virtual Private OnDemand service.
