The DCS-7000L features a 1/4” Megapixel progressive scan CMOS sensor that delivers 720p HD images. Its wide-range lens ensures a broad field of view, ideal for businesses monitoring large areas without the need for multiple cameras. Additionally, the “Privacy Mask” function allows users to define private areas that will be excluded from monitoring. It incorporates an ICR filter, which blocks infrared light during the day to improve image quality. At night, the filter automatically removes to utilize all available light, and the infrared LEDs activate to provide night vision with a range of eight meters. It also includes audio input and output connectors for connecting microphones and speakers.

The DCS-7000L's compact design is one of its greatest advantages, as its length of only 9 cm makes it ideal for environments where video surveillance solutions need to be discreetly integrated. Furthermore, its compatibility with the new Wi-Fi AC wireless standard (which offers six times the performance of the previous Wi-Fi N while improving coverage with Beamforming and MU-MIMO technologies) increases installation flexibility, allowing it to be placed further from the router or access point while ensuring a connection with the quality and bandwidth necessary for high-definition video streaming at high frame rates. Additionally, the camera can also be connected via Ethernet LAN cable.

This IP camera can be accessed remotely via the mydlink™ platform, both from a computer using the mydlink web portal and from mobile devices with the free mydlink™ app, available for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. This platform also sends push notifications if the camera detects motion, and allows snapshots or videos of the event to be sent via email. By inserting a microSD card into the available slot, the camera will also record video if it detects motion, and the recordings can be viewed through mydlink™. The DCS-7000L also includes D-Link's professional D-ViewCam™ monitoring software free of charge, which offers more surveillance options and allows you to manage up to 32 cameras on a network, schedule email alerts, create recording schedules, or manage an environment where a D-Link network video recorder (NVR) is also installed. Being compatible with the ONVIF standard, the DCS-7000L works with a wide variety of VMS solutions from different manufacturers.
