Globetouch developed the virtualized Affirmed Networks platform, powered by VMware's NFV infrastructure, for a new class of innovative services that will transform how businesses operate. Through unique features, such as network slicing into intelligent infrastructures, Globetouch can deliver customized services to its enterprise customers. Globetouch also benefits from the exceptional flexibility and ease of development of the integrated solution, enabling Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to expand their capacity beyond their native markets with Globetouch's cutting-edge IoT management platform.

To demonstrate the flexibility of the company's virtualized network on Affirmed and VMware, Globetouch recreated a real-time drone surveillance operation in San Francisco, which was then projected at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This demonstration highlights features such as object recognition and geofencing, currently used by Nightingale Securities, one of Globetouch's client companies.

“Virtualized network infrastructures have opened up new ways to connect people, devices, and things much more cost-effectively, no matter where they are in the world,” says Riccardo Di Blasio, CEO of Globetouch. “The work of Affirmed and VMware is to enable us to take advantage of these opportunities so we can offer new connectivity services to enterprises, OEMs, and mobile operators that want to capitalize on the performance and reach of these new network architectures.”

“Software-based networks have greatly improved how innovative operators like Globetouch develop and deliver services,” said Hassan Ahmed, CEO and President of Affirmed Network. “This week’s demonstration is just the tip of the iceberg of how new applications for connectivity services deliver real business value. Globetouch’s innovative approach is a prime example.”.

“Customers are adopting VMware and Affirmed solutions as a starting point for network modernization, cloud transformation, and 5G activation. The two companies have a long history of collaboration in helping businesses like Globetouch build and launch innovative services,” said Shekar Ayyar, executive president and general manager, Telco Group at VMware. “VMware, Affirmed, and Globetouch demonstrate that the future of software-defined networking will enable new revenue streams and open up new opportunities for flexible service providers.”.
