The core technology consists of the world's first silicon quantum digital security chip (QDSC), which, when combined with cryptographic APIs, provides highly scalable, embeddable, and easy-to-deploy end-to-end security for any connected device. Capable of working with all other security devices on the market today, the QDSC is unique to each device and unclonable, making it virtually impossible to hack—a true feat of science and engineering. It was developed using a combination of cutting-edge techniques in cryptography and quantum physics.
According to Gartner, securing IoT is the world's most visible challenge due to the category's rapid growth. There were 6 billion IoT devices in 2015, but this number is expected to reach 150 billion by 2030—15 devices for every person. How it works:
Each chip generates a large number of unique, tamper-proof cryptographic keys by leveraging quantum processes in silicon nanodevices.
Because of their uniqueness and the way they are generated, there's no need to store the keys on the device, as they can be retrieved on demand. This eliminates the need for secure storage and prevents leaks of confidential information.
Every day, millions of devices are shipped to facilities around the world to have secret keys "injected" into them. We completely eliminate this enormous cost and security overhead.
In addition to creating the chip, Crypto Quantique also provides the cryptographic APIs and manages end-to-end security to eliminate multiple parties involved in the security chain and provide an all-in-one solution. This means there are no "open windows" in connectivity when it comes to security.
Once a QDSC is placed on a device, it is directly linked to the proprietary system (i.e., the public or private cloud) via CQ's cryptographic APIs, where it is automatically and remotely managed while the device is in the field.
