Models that do not incorporate this protection, and that have a greater range of vertical movement, are specially designed for installation on ceilings or under porches.

The M31-VE cameras are very easy to install and feature Power over Ethernet (PoE), meaning they only require a standard network cable for data transmission and power. The cameras include an anti-tamper alarm, allowing them to detect attempts to sabotage their operation, such as covering the lens or spray-painting them.

Having video surveillance at the entrances of businesses can help, for example, to enhance security and prevent losses. Another possibility is to use video analytics applications, such as people counting, to monitor customers as they enter and leave the establishment.    

They offer excellent video quality at 30 frames per second. The M31-VE series of cameras consists of the M3114-VE model (with resolutions up to 1 megapixel) and the M3113-VE model (which offers SVGA resolution). The M3114-VE also supports 720p HDTV video, which provides, among other features, color fidelity and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The M31-VE cameras are supported by Camera Station video management software and the industry's largest software application base through the Application Developer Program. The M31-VE series cameras will be available for order through standard sales channels during the second quarter of 2011.
