Designed as the successor to the XG8 series, KIOXIA's XG10 series adopts the PCIe 5.0 interface, enabling improvements in both sequential and random performance. Compared to the previous generation, the new drives achieve up to twice the sequential read performance, more than twice the sequential write performance, and approximately 122% increases in sequential read speed

random read and 158% in random write, allowing faster data access and improved system responsiveness.

The KIOXIA XG10 series is designed to meet the needs of high-performance client system environments. These include professional applications, private AI training and inference, content creation and editing workflows, and immersive gaming experiences. With sequential read speeds of up to 14,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 12,000 MB/s, along with random read performance of up to 2,000 KIOPS and random write performance of up to 1,600 KIOPS, the KIOXIA XG10 series delivers high performance to meet today's computing demands.

“AI workloads, content creation, and high-end gaming are driving the need for higher storage performance for customers,” says Juergen Ahaus, General Manager of SSD Marketing and Engineering at KIOXIA Europe GmbH. “As the successor to our XG8 series, the KIOXIA XG10 series leverages PCIe 5.0 technology to deliver a significant leap in performance and responsiveness, enabling PC OEMs to design next-generation systems for today’s most data-intensive applications.”

Its additional features include:
• PCIe 5.0 (Gen5 x4) and NVMe 2.0d support
• Support for TCG Opal version 2.02-based Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs)
• Recommended for high-performance PC systems, including AI PCs, workstations, and gaming platforms
• M.2 Type 2280 form factor
• Capacities of 512 GB, 1024 GB, 2048 GB, and 4096 GB(2)

XG10 series KIOXIA is currently in testing with select PC OEM customers, and shipments of PCs equipped with this SSD are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026.
