This system is designed to offer maximum performance and scalability to organizations that rely on local primary storage.
"The PAS Series reflects Synology's expertise in storage and its close collaboration with our customers. After nine months of enterprise validation in real-world environments, the PAS7700 has proven its high reliability and performance in the field, helping customers reduce their total cost of ownership (TCO)," said Marcos de Santiago, Business Unit Director for Synology in Southern Europe.
High-performance storage for demanding workloads
The PAS7700 is designed for environments where downtime and data loss are unacceptable. Its active-active architecture provides multi-level redundancy through triple-parity RAID (RAID-TP), synchronized memory write protection via a high-speed non-transparent bridge (NTB), IP failover, and protocol-level failover, ensuring continuous operation even during unexpected incidents. Thanks to the new DSM Enterprise operating system and Continuous Availability Manager, the system enables zero-downtime software, firmware, and application updates.
Integrated features, including Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs), full volume encryption, Write-Once Read-Many (WORM), shared folders, immutable snapshots, Snapshot Replication, and Hyper Backup, provide organizations with out-of-the-box access to Synology's renowned suite of data protection tools. Additionally, it incorporates out-of-band (OOB) management via a dedicated 1GbE port per controller for easy remote maintenance.
Optimized cost and efficiency in storage
The PAS7700 enables organizations to optimize storage efficiency and reduce costs. Advanced deduplication (both inline and post-processing) minimizes storage consumption in large-scale enterprise workloads by utilizing the next-generation Btrfs file system to achieve a 5:1 data reduction ratio, resulting in approximately 8.25 PB of effective capacity.
In addition, the upcoming support for Synology Tiering will automatically allocate cold data to lower-cost storage based on customizable policies, reserving high-performance storage for active workloads.
The PAS7700 is now available worldwide through Synology's network of distributors and partners.
