As a key SSD supplier for NetApp SolidFire, this news demonstrates Toshiba's commitment to continued momentum and growth in the industry following the recently announced Market Reports by IDC, which identified Toshiba as the fastest-growing vendor in 2016 in the $17 billion SSD segment.

Toshiba's HK4 SATA SSDs will enhance NetApp SolidFire SF4805, SF9605, and SF19210 products, delivering optimized latency, power, and performance for the data center with encryption options for applications such as analytics, web servers, file servers, databases, and virtualized environments. The HK4 Series represents Toshiba's first line of unencrypted SATA SSDs for SolidFire products, complementing the existing family of encrypted HK4 SSDs.

This new integration marks the latest collaboration between Toshiba and NetApp, building on last year's collaborative efforts, during which the two companies announced the availability of FIPS-certified SSDs with Toshiba's 4Gb/s SAS SSDs for encrypted data environments.
