“With the DS1525+, we are taking another step in our mission to offer intelligent, powerful, and affordable storage for the most demanding professional environments,” says Marcos de Santiago, Business Unit Director for Southern Europe at Synology. “This launch reinforces our commitment to practical innovation, focused on solving real-world IT challenges, from backup to collaboration and surveillance.”

The DS1525+ and the upcoming DS1825+ feature dual 2.5GbE ports for advanced connectivity right out of the box. The DS1525+ can be easily upgraded to 10GbE using the E10G22-T1-Mini module, while the DS1825+ integrates a PCIe 3.0 slot compatible with 10GBASE-T or even 25GbE SFP28 cards.
Both models include two M.2 slots for configuring an all-flash cache or storage pool for high-performance workloads. In internal testing, the DS1525+ achieved sequential read speeds of 1,181 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 1,180 MB/s, while the DS1825+ reached up to 2,239 MB/s read and 1,573 MB/s write speeds with SSDs.
Designed for scalability, both systems allow for the connection of up to two DX525 expansion units (5 bays each). This brings the total capacity to 15 bays and 300 TB gross for the DS1525+, and up to 18 bays and 360 TB gross for the DS1825+.

To ensure long-term stability, both models are based on a validated ecosystem: they require DSM-compatible disks and have undergone more than 7,000 hours of rigorous testing. Synology also offers a validation program for third-party disk manufacturers under the same standards.
Enterprise features under DSM 7.2:
Both the DS1525+ and DS1825+ work with DiskStation Manager (DSM), Synology's management platform that integrates:
• Synology Drive, for synchronization and multi-user collaboration
• Active Backup Suite, to protect PCs, servers, VMs, and cloud accounts
• Surveillance Station, for intelligent and scalable video surveillance

Availability:
The DS1525+ is available in Europe starting June 25, 2025, through Synology's authorized distributor network.
The DS1825+ will be available in July.
