This plug-and-play, low-profile indoor Wi-Fi antenna can be mounted virtually anywhere in the vehicle. Integrated MIMO (Multi-Input Multiple Output) technology enhances connectivity by splitting data streams (multipath propagation) and utilizing up to four antennas to transmit the signal.
For the new indoor Wi-Fi antenna, TE engineers focused on achieving a low-profile design to accommodate the frequent space limitations in vehicles, especially double-deckers. With a diameter of 115 mm and a height of only 30 mm, the new Wi-Fi antenna is very compact and can be installed in tight spaces. Thanks to its integrated ground plane, the antenna can be positioned anywhere in the vehicle, even on non-conductive surfaces. Furthermore, being made of flame-retardant material, it can be used in a wide variety of environments.
The product can be equipped with a 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 MiMo antenna. The plug-and-play radio connection can be established using an SMA coaxial connector or a right-angle N-type connector.
