This innovative antenna is ideal for systems requiring deep penetration in buildings or for systems that need to cover long distances. With the TAS 169, data acquisition elements can receive data from gas or water meters installed at long distances.
This smart metering solution can be used by energy suppliers and meter manufacturers to upgrade older buildings, particularly apartment blocks, or to capture consumption data from entire streets.
The TAS 169 is a modular interface for transmitting consumption data, compliant with EN 13757-4, Wireless M bus. The system transmits and receives data in the 169 MHz frequency range. Thanks to its longer wavelength and transmission power of up to 500 mW, the new system can cover greater distances than comparable systems based on frequencies of 433 MHz, 868 MHz, or 2400 MHz.
Hirschmann has developed the Adaptive Tuning System (AAT) specifically for the TAS 169. The transceiver connected to the antenna base optimizes antenna tuning while maximizing its efficiency. With the TAS 169 system, system integrators have access to a complete communications module, including a wireless interface, which reduces development time.
