The new wireless ARM module and AVENTICS G3 fieldbus platform are ideal for pneumatic valve system applications in the automotive, food and beverage, tire, packaging, and metalworking industries.
The wireless ARM module provides easy access to the diagnostic and commissioning capabilities of the AVENTICS G3 fieldbus platform via an internal Wi-Fi access point and a mobile website, even when the valve system is located inside machinery or outdoors. It offers the visual benefits of a human-machine interface (HMI). The wireless ARM module generates error notifications for alarms, voltage levels, short circuits, module errors, open load errors, and distribution errors to reduce system downtime.
The device is small enough to connect to the AVENTICS G3 fieldbus platform in the space of a jumper cable tie. It has three power configurations, depending on whether the signal is low, medium, or high distance, to ensure reliable data access regardless of the valve system's installation location. Additional security benefits include a wireless signal that can be disabled during configuration, multiple password options, and non-controllable diagnostic and commissioning information.
The wireless ARM module supports Ethernet/IP DLR and PROFINET protocols and protects AVENTICS G3 fieldbus platform configuration information from critical failures, including all configurable node parameters and those of connected I/O modules.
Emerson has also introduced an enhanced ARM clamp for the AVENTICS G3 fieldbus platform that is backward compatible with previous ARM and G3 fieldbus platforms. The ARM clamp improves system reliability by protecting configuration information from critical valve system failures.
Electronic parameters and configurations of the AVENTICS G3 fieldbus platform are stored in the ARM's non-volatile memory, and the ARM then automatically disconnects from the power supply to ensure that the stored information is not erased during power surges or critical failures.
The compact ARM module is easy to install in the space of a jumper clamp on the AVENTICS G3 fieldbus platform without having to change the mounting.
