The Cerus range is now available in 1, 4, and 8-channel amplifier versions. All amplifiers integrate Filtronic's GaAs HEMT PA MMICs with finely tuned performance and combined power in the waveguide to deliver maximum output power. The 4- and 8-channel models include an analog output temperature sensor for precise monitoring of thermal characteristics and optional control circuitry for functions such as gain control, mute control, and alarms.
The Cerus amplifiers, operating in the 71–76 GHz and 81–86 GHz bands, offer excellent saturated output power levels of up to +36 dBm or higher, as well as a gain compression point of 1 dB at +31 dBm. The transmit power control range is 10 dB, and the small-signal gain typically reaches 24 dB.
The amplifiers' high linearity, with an output third-order intermodulation product (OIP3) of +39.5 dBm for an output power of +29 dBm, allows them to support 256QAM modulation for high-capacity transmission.
Measuring only 40 x 40 x 47 mm and weighing just 160 g for the power they deliver, these amplifiers are ideal for aerial and HAPS applications.
Input and output connections are made via a WR12 waveguide, while the DC connection is made through a multi-pin connector.
