The IQ Fiber Master leverages both patented measurement capabilities, PIM over CPRI and RF over CPRI, enabling on-site testing. Engineers and field technicians can use the MT2780A to scan the uplink RF signals of a remote radio head (RRH) for in-band interference and simultaneously perform PIM over CPRI measurements. This solution can determine whether key performance indicators (KPIs) are affected by interference or PIM.
CPRI's IQ data analysis allows users to view the uplink radio signal spectrum to troubleshoot interference problems. The IQ Fiber Master measures PIM over CPRI with four SFP inputs, offering the ability to compare multiple bands and sectors. Measurements are taken on signals transmitted by an operational base station and provide a method for real-world testing, resulting in improved accuracy without system downtime. Because measurements are derived from baseband IQ data, the IQ Fiber Master can take measurements over any frequency RRH, or over a combination of frequencies within the RRH.
The IQ Fiber Master analysis provides a comprehensive PIM diagnosis, indicating the presence of both internal and external PIM, as well as the distance to the PIM. Furthermore, the proprietary PIM heat map visualizes the transmitter contributing the most PIM.
For continuous monitoring, IQ Fiber Master can be installed on base stations to measure PIM over CPRI over extended periods and provide analytical information. This setup can detect PIM-related issues, such as intermittent PIM occurring on specific days and times, or PIM fluctuations due to base station load throughout the day. Measurement reports can be generated and used for comparative analysis.
The IQ Fiber Master MT2780A supports all LTE bands. The device weighs 1 kg (2.2 lbs) and measures 185 mm x 133 mm x 55 mm (2.1 x 7.3 x 5.2 in), fitting comfortably in the palm of the user's hand.
