The Power Master MA24507A RF power analyzer with selectable frequency leverages Anritsu's patented Shockline technology to meet the growing number of testing requirements in millimeter wave applications, including testing 802.11ad, Wireless HD, and E-band products, at all stages of the product lifecycle.

As signal frequency increases, attenuation due to the atmosphere or cabling grows, making power measurements particularly challenging at millimeter-wave frequencies. The ultra-portable size of the Power Master MA24507A overcomes this challenge by allowing users to place it directly at the signal source, including wafer measurements. When system losses are unavoidable, the MA24507A can perform measurements as low as -90 dBm at 70 GHz, making it a superior alternative to large laboratory instruments, which can be difficult to handle in the field. USB-powered, the Power Master MA24507A measures approximately 15.2 x 7.6 x 2.5 centimeters and weighs less than 430 grams—slightly larger than a smartphone. It is so small and lightweight that it can easily be used to make measurements on antenna towers or with an extension pole to measure weak cell signals from the ground.

Because the Power Master MA24507A allows power measurements by selecting the frequency, users can differentiate between desired and unwanted signals for the first time. With a range from 1 kHz to the entire frequency spectrum, the Power Master MA24507A can focus on a signal of interest in challenging environments, including those where unwanted signals might interfere with power readings. This enables measurements such as channel power and adjacent channel power, while avoiding spurs and harmonics.

Unlike many other power measurement instruments, no reference calibration is required. The power analyzer can remain connected to a test system continuously, eliminating the need to disconnect and reconnect between test procedures. When the accuracy of a traditional power meter is not required, unwanted signals may be present, or low-level power measurements are needed, the Power Master MA24507A is the ideal instrument.

Anritsu has added features to PowerXpert™ to optimize the performance of the Power Master MA24507A. These enhancements include a "Power Hunter" mode for easily identifying the six highest CW amplitudes and their corresponding frequencies, and a "Channel Monitor" mode that allows users to select up to six frequency channels and monitor their CW amplitude or power channel simultaneously. The Power Master MA24507A can be controlled remotely via the USB interface or using the Anritsu PowerXpert™ data analysis and monitoring software.
