When used in conjunction with Agilent's modular X-Series applications, the M9391A provides a uniform user interface, consistency across common measures, and backward-compatible APIs to accelerate development and test performance. The M9391A is a complementary product to the PXIe M9381A Vector Signal Generator (VSG) for testing and validating power amplifier, transceiver, and base station designs, primarily picocell and femtocell, for mobile communications. The new analyzer performs more tests in less time, resulting in significant cost reductions. It incorporates innovative Fastune technology, which delivers unprecedented automatic control loop test times through rapid frequency and amplitude adjustments. Furthermore, its hardware-accelerated power measurements maximize throughput while protecting measurement integrity.
Agilent's X-Series measurement applications for modular instruments are compatible with common measurement standards for mobile communications signals. By using the proven X-Series software with the new PXI VSAs, engineers can accelerate measurements and ensure code compatibility and measurement integrity from the design to production phases. The X-Series measurement applications enable testing of major mobile communication and connectivity protocols, such as LTE, GSM, W-CDMA, and 802.11ac, right out of the box, and provide easy access to new standards without the need to return or replace hardware.
Engineers can use the Agilent M9391A PXIe VSA with the M9381A and X-Series modular applications to test broadband power amplifiers, input modules, transceivers, and many other devices. The PXI VSA is equipped with a 40 MHz RF bandwidth that can be expanded to 100 or 160 MHz for ultra-fast modulation analysis via real-time hardware resampling. The hardware can be upgraded using a license key to adapt to evolving requirements as well as new ones.
Agilent’s unique Core Exchange calibration strategy is an industry leader and maximizes system uptime by providing rapid repairs. In addition, Agilent offers one day of setup support as standard and a three-year return-to-Agilent warranty.
The PXIe M9391A VSA is the latest addition to Agilent's modular PXI and AXIe product line.
The Agilent PXIe M9391A VSA is available now and comprises the M9350A downconverter, M9301A synthesizer, M9300A frequency reference, and M9214A digitizer. Software upgrades are available as license keys to increase analysis bandwidth, frequency range, memory, and switching speed. Up to four PXI VSAs can be installed in a single 18-slot PXI chassis.
Agilent's Modular PXI and AXIe Products:
Agilent offers a full range of PXI and AXIe products, including digitizers, arbitrary waveform generators, digitizing oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and a wide array of switches.
Fastune:
Agilent's Fastune technology is a power-based switching technology that uses digital baseband power level changes and frequency offsets (while maintaining amplitude and phase-calibrated accuracy) to provide the speed and precision needed to reduce the cost of testing modern communications equipment during manufacturing and pre-production testing.
